This is the statement posted at every McDonalds on their nutritian chart…read the fine print. Or better yet, read between the lines.


Chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm may be present in foods or beverages sold or served here. Cooked potatoes that have been browned, such as french fries, hash browns and baked potatoes, contain arcylamide, a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. Other foods sold here, such as hamburger buns, biscuits and coffee, also contain arcylamide, but generally in lower concentrations than fried potatoes.

Arcylamide is not added to our foods, but is created whenever potatoes and certain other foods are browned.

The FDA has not advised people to stop eating baked potatoes, fried potatoes or other foods that contain arcylamide. For more information, visit

Talk about a conflict of interest.

I hate to just pick on McDonalds. All fast food is dangerous. For that matter, take a closer look at what is being sold at the grocery store…it’s all corn.

I like the way McDonald’s mocks us, however. They know we are so stupid that the warning will have no effect on sales. All I can say is, “Keep reading the Warning.” Eventually, we will get IT.
